I was surprised when I went over to my buddy’s house and the air quality was terrible.

I noticed that the HVAC system was hardly working and I asked my friend what was going on.

He said he couldn’t afford any new air filters and he tried something crazy. He said he smashed two air filters together and shoved them in so they would provide extra filtering power. I looked at him for a moment and had to say, “Let me get this straight, you are using two dirty air filters in your HVAC unit?” He said he was and asked me if I thought it was a brilliant plan. I shook my head and told my friend he made a foolish mistake. Fortunately he had only been using the cooling system for that morning with those two dirty air filters crammed together like that. I told him I would buy him some new air filters and he could pay me back. On the way I explained how the two dirty air filters were only making the HVAC system struggle more and that was why it was such a bad idea. I had to tell him that one of the most important things with the HVAC system is having plenty of airflow. I told him if the airflow was struggling too much, the HVAC system would eventually overheat and a lot of damage could be caused that would be expensive to have repaired. He seemed to get it, but I couldn’t be entirely sure. Still, the HVAC was working when we got the new air filter in there and took the two smashed air filters out.

I had a very stressful day at work a little while ago and things got really bad.

I was driving back home and tried to adjust the temperature control settings.

I wanted to have the A/C system cranked up but I wasn’t getting any cooling from the HVAC vents in the car. I was entirely miserable as I had to roll down my windows for some cooling relief. When I got home, I was so aggravated and I wasn’t careful about how I stepped out of the car. I ended up stepping on a stone that twisted my foot in a crazy way that made me sprain my ankle. My wife checked out my ankle and said that I would probably have to go to the hospital to make sure I didn’t fracture or break any bones. When I went to the hospital, the place was freezing because of their crazy rule with cranking up the A/C to prevent the spread of germs. I wasn’t comfortable being there, but they were able to determine that I had a sprained ankle. I had my ankle wrapped up and I was given a crutch to use to get around. I couldn’t even take my car to the shop to get the A/C system fixed, but fortunately a friend came through for me. He said he had an extra refrigerant refill kit and he brought it over and got my A/C working again in my car. I had to relax for a week before I could go back to work and I had to use the rest of my vacation time. At least the climate control at home has been nice.

My wife and I already made plans to go to our favorite restaurant on the weekend, the place that has a really nice fireplace we prefer to relax next to.

• Well, we had to change everything when we started experiencing major issues with the HVAC system.

The HVAC was making all kinds of scary noises and I called up the HVAC company right away. The HVAC professional who came out said it was not a good situation and our HVAC was heading quickly towards the end of its life. I just wanted to pay for the repairs and then think about the nice romantic weekend I was going to have with my wife. Well, sadly the HVAC repair cost way more money than I anticipated. It was so much money that I had to talk to my wife about doing something else instead of going for our romantic dinner date. It was a very expensive restaurant that we rarely went to. I thought everything was going to be great, but not after that unexpected and terribly costly HVAC expense. I realized that the HVAC professional was right, we had to save up enough money to go for a new HVAC system because the next repair we would be facing might be just as expensive or even more costly. My wife was quite understanding and she didn’t give me a hard time about having to cancel our dinner plans. Instead, I made her one of my specialties; cooked ribs, beans & rice, and my special homemade BBQ sauce. My wife said she would have preferred my cooking over the restaurant anyday.

I was so hoping that our four year old daughter would have a wonderful time during her birthday.

We rented a bounce house for the kids to have a great time.

We also set up a nice tent and rented a powerful cooling system from a local HVAC rental company. This was so that everybody would not be going in and out of the house and causing our HVAC system to struggle immensely. Of course, people could always go in to use the bathroom, but I told everybody to please remain outside unless they were going to do that. I didn’t even want anybody to eat food inside the house to be honest because when you’re opening and shutting the door constantly, all that A/C gets out of the house. Everything was going pretty well I thought until the clown we hired was giving balloons to the children. Our daughter was having a great time watching the clown make all kinds of crazy balloon shapes. Our daughter wanted to carry a regular helium filled balloon because she liked how it floated. We were carrying it around when she wanted to get some ice cream. When she grabbed her ice cream cone, that’s when she lost her balloon. It floated up in the air and she started screaming! We tried to give her another balloon, but she said she wanted that one, the one that was floating away. It was the only pink balloon for some reason and she wouldn’t take any other color. I had to run to the store to pick up pink balloons and brought her back one so she would be happy again. Aside from that, the party wasn’t too bad.

It was really scary when my mother was put on a new medicine.

I was thinking that her doctor knew what he was talking about when putting her on the medicine, but the side effects were terrible.

First she started experiencing severe hot and cold flashes. I mean seriously, she was adjusting the temperature control settings at least a few times per hour and it was driving everybody crazy in the house. It got to such a point that my father decided to upgrade the HVAC system to a zoned HVAC system. On top of that, he had a smart thermostat installed so my mother would have access to the temperature control settings with the smart app on her phone. This helped a pretty good amount, but the side effects only became worse. She started to have hair falling out and this was a major scare. The doctor told her that it would only be a temporary thing and so she continued to take the medicine. Then eventually she collapsed to the floor and started having a seizure! We had to rush her to the hospital afterwards to make sure she was okay. The doctor said it was kind of rare to experience convulsions from using this particular medication, but it was not entirely unheard of. He finally told her that she would have to switch to another medication. None of us are looking forward to that because what if the side effects are even worse this time! If my mother doesn’t get better or gets seriously hurt or killed, that doctor is going to feel my wrath!

We were so happy when our daughter finally graduated from high school.

She already had big plans to go on a road trip with all her friends.

They all wanted to tour the country and have a great time before everybody went off to college. We knew that our daughter was extremely smart and she did a great job in school. We figured that when she finally went to college, she was going to knock them dead. So we helped her prepare for the road trip. She was saying that they were all debating on which way to travel. She said her car was probably in the best condition, even though it was kind of a clunker. I told her the A/C system wasn’t even working in her car, and what were they going to do if they got stuck in the middle of the desert? She said she could always get the A/C system fixed. I took her to do just that and it wasn’t that challenging. We used one of those A/C refrigerant refill kits and that worked like a charm. Still, I thought it would be too crowded in the car for all her friends. I asked if she would consider driving an RV? She asked if I was going to buy her one and I told her I would consider it or perhaps a rental. She said she wasn’t sure she would want to drive such a big vehicle, but her one friend Tony certainly wouldn’t mind. I ended up renting a real nice RV for the month, and they went and had the best time. The RV is nice with a wonderful climate control system and the gas mileage wasn’t so bad either.

When I went with my girl to the store the other day, we were honestly just trying to find some cleaning products.

• When we went past the air filters, I was saying that we could use some because we were down to one last air filter.

When I was looking at the different air filters, I saw that the washable filters were on sale. I asked my girl if she knew anything about washable filters or how to clean them. She read the directions on the back and said it seemed easy enough. I also appreciated that these washable filters had a reasonable MERV rating of 12 and that they would last for at least a year guaranteed. Considering how cheap the washable filters were while they were on sale, I told my girl that we would save a lot of money by using such an air filter. She laughed and said if I was going to get a washable filter, I better be the one to take care of cleaning the thing. I thought it would be no issue, but I realized that it wasn’t as easy as I thought to clean the thing every month. On the other hand, my girl was pretty good at cleaning the air filter or pretty much anything for that matter. She has this gift when it comes to making things exceptionally clean. She’s a great cook as well and I think I may just ask her to marry me one day. She ended up cleaning the washable filter more than I did and she always told me that she thought I was going to take care of it. At least we’re saving big money by keeping that filter clean.

Jack was in for a shock after moving to stay with a acquaintance in a current location.

All his life, he’d endured weeks of snow followed by a little summer time break.

He’d never lived in an section where it was so sizzling for most of the year. His best acquaintance from private school had launched a good supplier & offered Jack a position. They were catching up a single morning, & Jack happened to mention he wanted a unusual experience. He packed his things, moved in with his acquaintance for numerous weeks, then bought a house of his own. They had excellent reviews & had even installed the cooling plan at his friend’s house. Jack also got an Heating & A/C repair & repair plan from them. The AC company came to Jack’s current house the next morning to check it out & command the right AC size. During the evaluation, he noted all the work on the duct. Jack got a quote for the current unit & worked at the end. The price was a bit high, however Jack understood. In addition, the Heating & A/C company encouraged Jack to plant some shrubs around the section with the outdoor Heating & A/C to protect it from dust & debris.
