It was really scary when my mother was put on a new medicine.
I was thinking that her doctor knew what he was talking about when putting her on the medicine, but the side effects were terrible.
First she started experiencing severe hot and cold flashes. I mean seriously, she was adjusting the temperature control settings at least a few times per hour and it was driving everybody crazy in the house. It got to such a point that my father decided to upgrade the HVAC system to a zoned HVAC system. On top of that, he had a smart thermostat installed so my mother would have access to the temperature control settings with the smart app on her phone. This helped a pretty good amount, but the side effects only became worse. She started to have hair falling out and this was a major scare. The doctor told her that it would only be a temporary thing and so she continued to take the medicine. Then eventually she collapsed to the floor and started having a seizure! We had to rush her to the hospital afterwards to make sure she was okay. The doctor said it was kind of rare to experience convulsions from using this particular medication, but it was not entirely unheard of. He finally told her that she would have to switch to another medication. None of us are looking forward to that because what if the side effects are even worse this time! If my mother doesn’t get better or gets seriously hurt or killed, that doctor is going to feel my wrath!
