I woke up early this morning so I decided to go for a nice jog along the beach. It’s almost Christmas and I haven’t been home for two years now. I used to run with my buddy in the states and I miss his company, he always pushed me a little harder when we ran. I plan on going back soon to visit my family and friends and I know it is going to be bittersweet because my father is no longer with us. I plan on staying with my stepmom to keep her company because I know she’s lonely. Dad had the best electric heating system in his house which is funny because he lives in the South where we really don’t even need heating for the house. Every time I go over to their house in the winter it is so warm inside without any heat running. He insulated the house well and made sure the ductwork was large enough to accommodate the monster a/c system he had installed. He has five HEPA filters in the air conditioner and has a gas furnace that can heat the living room up in about 15 minutes. Today I am going to the hospital to get my first vaccine shot.

• I’m not really excited about this but I have to travel soon and it will save me a lot of money and hassle in the airports.

I wonder when this whole Coronavirus thing is going to be in the past, seems like it is taking a long time to fizzle out. I know a few friends who got sick from it so maybe this vaccine will be good for me. I need to go there in an hour so if you don’t hear from me, then guess what. The local furnace business down the street is having a sale on heaters and a/c units so I may stop by there on the way back from the hospital. It’s Monday and quite quiet out there so maybe the stores won’t be so crowded today with shoppers, these are the best days to shop. I think our heat pump is not working so well and the store has a geo heat pump that I have been looking to buy and maybe today is the day. The weather is getting colder and we will need to run the heat soon, so I better get this done as soon as possible. We have a hybrid heating system that was quite expensive and I hope we don’t need to replace the whole thing, maybe just the heat pump needs replacing. I am pretty good at doing things myself, but when it comes to heating and a/c I think I better let the pros do it this time.

I like the hot weather because there is a lot of action on the beach and it’s the best weather for playing sports outdoors.

The winters can be harsh and you can get a lot of injuries if you don’t warm up properly. I just prefer going outside when it is nice and warm and just playing ball on the beach all day. I played yesterday for the first time in a few weeks and today my body is very sore. I took a dip in the cold sea this morning and my joints already feel a lot better than before. I’m not a cooling expert by any means but I really enjoy fixing my air conditioner when it seems to be running poorly. I have a lot of free time so I like to spend it doing things that help save me money. I cleaned my central air conditioning system the other day and what a difference it made. It runs cleaner and quieter now and I bet I will have a lower power bill next month as well. I like to set my thermostat to 70 F in the day so it isn’t always running in the summertime. At night we like to keep the house nice and cool for sleeping and in the winters I just open the window at night to cool down. We have a multi split air conditioner so we can cool down any room we want without cooling the whole house. I also just bought an air purifier to help keep the air cleaner.

Whenever a rainy day would drag on with no sign of the weather stopping, I would often enjoy relaxing near my window with a warm drink and a good book near me, happy to listen to the sound of the rainfall against my windowsill as I read or took a light nap. It’s a bit of a balance but I know that I’m at our best when I live life care about this. Perhaps that has a lot to do with the example nature has set for me. I live in a region where the two of us have more than three absolutely distinct plus measured seasons. So when your sick of HVAC heating, it won’t be long until you don’t need it. Then just care about that, you realize that it’s time to turn on the air conditioner. That’s the sort of balance the two of us have around here. But our home is always so comfortable plus the two of us get tremendous cooling comfort from our air conditioner. This balance of seasons may have shown me that balance in life is just so essential. Occasionally it’s not easy to maintain. And care about everyone else I get out of balance time plus again. Yet, I’m studying to know that sooner plus sooner in order to do what I need to do to get back in balance again.
