Should I join the business incubator?

This all started as a sideline business.

My main job, my primary source of income, was working in an office doing something or other.

Have you ever worked an office job? Nothing matters, it is just pushing papers, sending emails, and formatting documents. Low stakes, low pay, low interest levels, everything sucks but it pays the bills. I started the side hustle just to make a little extra money and be creative, but recently I have seen a huge upswell in interest and I think I need to commit to this idea. I did some research and stumbled across a local business incubator, and am interested to try and get involved with it. A business incubator is a more home-based, intimate version of a business development center, and gives you the time and space you need to grow your idea into something huge. At a business incubator you are hosted by the owner, and by sheer virtue of them giving you resources and space they have a hand in whatever your idea is. In fact, if they don’t think your idea has promise, you won’t be allowed to stay at the business incubator. My only problem with the business incubator is that I don’t really want any outside people having a claim over my idea. It’s mine, I have been working on it myself, and as much as I like the idea of the business incubator, I don’t want the owner to have a claim on my future business. Who knows, my idea could be as big as Amazon one day!

Reasons why your heating bills are so high

With outside un-even temperatures dropping during winter, several households experience increased heating bills, however multiple factors can contribute to the energy bill increase.

One, your furnace could be working harder to maintain the desired heat to keep you comfortable based on how much temperature fluctuations between your indoor space & the outdoor environment.

This could result in increased utility bills. Most people combat chilly winters by adding an extra layer of warm clothing. Be it several blankets or odd clothes. You will wash more laundry than usual. This means you will use your washers & dryers often, leading to increased energy bills. Poor insulation may also lead to increased energy bills. Older or poorly insulated homes lose heat through drafty doors & leaky windows. As a result, you’ll need to run the gas furnace more often & at higher un-even temperatures to maintain your indoor temperature at comfortable levels. This increases your energy bills significantly. Another reason why you could be spending a fortune keeping your apartment heated is your inefficient furnace. If your gas furnace has not been took care of in a long while or is outdated, it could be working excessively hard to achieve optimal warmth in your home. The expected lifespan of your apartment furnace is approximately 25 years. If your unit is aging, consider a replacement as it will not be as efficient as it was designed to be. While replacing your furnace might be overpriced, replacing your low-efficiency unit for a high-efficiency unit will notably reduce your bi-weekly heating bills. Stick to an Heating & A/C service routine to prolong the lifespan of your system. Always have an Heating & A/C professional complicationshoot your Heating & A/C system for carbon monoxide leaks, worn-out parts, dirt, or rust, & service it. This will keep your apartment satisfactoryly heated & your energy bill stable.

Should Heating & A/C system substitutes be a regular apartment remodelling for lake house flippers

Ordinarily, modern homeowners regularly form an opinion about their modern apartment a few days after moving into the locale, then if the lake house has several issues, care about Heating & A/C system issues & the quality of the apartment in general, the modern homeowners will not have great things to say about the seller.

Therefore, as a flipper, investing in the right apartment remodeling project & substitutes will go a long way to ensure your homes are sold hastily, but often, apartment flippers focus on essential remodeling projects & substitutes.

They replace home office cabinets, countertops, & appliances, however even though lake house flippers care about profits, they don’t leave anything to chance while remodeling a apartment to meet the minimum housing requirements & maintain a great reputation. However, remodeling projects are costly & don’t guarantee a great ROI. Therefore, the apartment flipper might not get the most out of a lake house flipping transaction. Home flippers need to focus on Heating & A/C substitutes to keep apartment remodeling costs low & maximize investment return. Homeclients tend to choose homes with better Heating & A/C systems, while homes can sell with a basic Heating & A/C system, however for instance, a buyer would go for a apartment with a smart thermostat & advanced Heating & A/C device because of convenience. These substitutes are not necessarily costly. In fact, when compared to a complete apartment renovation, a apartment flipper is likely to save more on remodeling by upgrading an Heating & A/C system & performing minor apartment improvements. Even though I’m not a apartment flipper, I used this logic to sell our previous home. I talked to our Heating & A/C corporation & suggested an Heating & A/C system substitute to increase our home’s equity. Luckily, he had experience with this type of apartment remodeling project. He designed an Heating & A/C installation system for our apartment & installed it. I then listed the apartment in a local apartment listing, & it was bought after 6 weeks.

Balancing Act

The most amazing balancing act ever was when Nik Wallenda of the famed tightrope walking family crossed the gorge of Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park near the Grand Canyon. The 2-inch cable stretched about ¼ mile and was 1500 ft above the ground. Much less awe-inspiring are the balancing acts we face every day. We try to live a balanced life, eat a balanced diet, and try to find that perfect balance of work and family life. Our cars must have a balanced frame and suspension system with perfectly balanced tires to avoid uneven tire wear and reduced fuel economy. Another place where balance is vital is in the compressor unit of HVAC units where large fan blades help get rid of the heat from inside the house. Some noises are expected when the unit comes to life and the fan begins to rotate. When the fan is out of balance, those noises turn into rattles, vibrations, and clanging noises if a misaligned fan blade impacts other metal components in the housing. The good news is that the HVAC compressor fan can be easily cleaned and re-balanced. One trick is to tape a dime to one of the fan blades to add a bit of excess weight. Then, a series of comparison tests can be run using gravity to determine any differences in blade weights. Some tweaking and bits of well-placed duct tape should restore the fan’s balance and allow it to run quietly. That is until your amateurish balancing efforts fail, and you end up with a damaged compressor fan. That is when you can call your qualified HVAC technician who can simply replace the fan and balance the unit professionally without those strategic duct tape additions.

Death by Fire or Ice

Given the choice of death by heat or death by cold, I think I would choose a chilly demise.

This preference is based on my reading of near-death experiences from people who were exposed to the cold but somehow managed to escape their icy tombs.

According to them, they experience a few moments of pain but that soon fades away as numbness sets in. The urge to sleep is next followed by irrational thoughts and even feelings of warmth as the brain becomes confused and muscles begin to fail. Metabolism slows, which may be a factor in why some people can recover. Death by heat or fire is much more painful and obviously permanent. An office or a classroom are places where one should be able to work and learn in a perfect climate-controlled environment created by HVAC. But all too often, the HVAC units in schools and office buildings are not up to the task of keeping students and workers from facing what seems like death by fire or ice. Improper ventilation may cause temperature variances causing one person to sweat and another to shiver. Thermostat battles can arise between the sexes as women generally like it warmer than men. Ideally HVAC should be able to keep a room at about 72°F for maximum brain efficiency. Temperatures above 80°F or below 65°F will cause the brain to devote resources to maintaining the body’s core temperature. I tried to explain this to my boss when I fell asleep at my desk last week, but he informed me that the HVAC had recently been serviced by a professional HVAC company. It kept working perfectly even after I had to work overtime to make up for my brief snooze.

Is my A/C making me sick?

I was starting to think it was just bad luck that I always seem to get sick on the weekends.

I feel pretty good throughout the work week.

However, when Saturday morning rolls around I always feel like I’m coming down with a virus. It is always worse during the day. At night, I always feel much better. That is why, when Monday rolls around, I am ready to go back to work. It is terrible. I can never do anything fun on my days off because I feel so sick. This went on for a few months until I noticed a strange coincidence. I only feel sick when my home air conditioner is on. I don’t run the air conditioner at night because it cools down a lot at night so I just open my windows. I also don’t run my air conditioner when I am at work. There is no need. I do, however, run my air conditioner all day long on the weekends. I decided to do a little experiment last Saturday. I didn’t turn my air conditioner on when I got up at 10am. Instead, I got dressed and ran a bunch of neglected errands. I didn’t feel sick at all. Six hours later I came home and turned the air conditioner on. Less than 30 minutes later I started feeling sick. I turned it back off and I felt better in a few hours. So I guess I need an air conditioning company to come out and clean my air conditioner and maybe my ductwork. I don’t know for sure but I am sure the A/C professionals will be able to help. Then maybe I won’t keep getting sick.

It is time for a heater tune-up

I am pretty sure that our heater needs a tune-up.

Last year it was running just fine.

In fact, it kept us nice and toasty warm all winter long. Of course we haven’t used it since April though. In April, May, and sometimes June we don’t need any HVAC at all. We just open the windows when it is hot and close the windows if it’s cold. This old house has really good isolation and it holds on to temperatures really well. June until September we usually run the air conditioner almost nonstop. It gets really hot in the summer around here. And, again, we had no issues with our air conditioning this year. In September and October we can usually get away with no HVAC once again. Fresh air is good enough. Come November, it is time to start using the heater again. It gets truly freezing in this area. I turned the heater on in early November, as usual, and I noticed that it was making a strange whining sound after it turned off. So it would kick on, work fine, then kick off and make this strange sound. It repeated almost every time. I didn’t bother with it any and now I have noticed that the heater almost never kicks off anymore. It is almost constantly running. So I’m looking to get a heater turn-up done. I am sure that the technicians will be able to fix it for us and set everything right again. At least, I hope they can. It is still a few more months until April so we really do need a working heater.

I used to like it when the gas truck paid us a visit

I remember my childhood home with some fond memories and some not-so-fond memories.

But then, nobody has a perfect childhood.

One of my earliest fond memories is of our gas furnace. More specifically, it is of the truck that would come every winter and refill the gas for the furnace. I know that the furnace wasn’t the only thing we used the gas for. Mom would use it for the stove and the hot water heater also used the gas. But what I do remember is that a tank of gas would last us all spring, summer, and fall. Come winter, it would need to be refilled at least twice. I can recall sitting on the porch, all garbed in my winter gear, waiting for the truck to come. I would get so excited when I heard it turning around the bend. I could hear the truck before I could see it. Then the workers would refill our gas and leave. It was great entertainment for a 5 year old. Sometimes I wish my own kids had a simpler life like that. I can’t imagine any of them getting excited about a gas truck coming to fill the gas so that their furnace would keep running. We have an electric furnace anyway. Still, kids today have a lot more distractions than I had growing up. Back then, things were just simpler. I honestly can’t say that I miss having to ration the gas though. Being able to have as much heat as we need is very nice. So things have changed in good ways too.
