I am still grateful for the HVAC company I once ran many years ago.
I appreciated and admired the company so much that I got an FBI tattoo, which are the initials of my business, on my left shoulder to remind me of my accomplishment. I was able to buy several houses from the money I made with that company and chase my comedic dream, which led me to live a life overseas in a town that I love. So when I see this FBI tattoo it reminds me of how my choices shape my life and the power of dreaming of what is possible. If I didn’t take the chance and start my own HVAC business I could have been stuck in my office job till now. That local business of mine gave me the freedom to live the life I am living now and the ability to chase my crazy dreams all over the world. I’ve performed in front of the quiet and shy Finnish people, the obnoxious NYC crowds, and the wild and young Spanish audiences. I’ve been in clubs without heating or cooling in the most extreme weather and had my car stolen at one of the shows I was doing. It’s been a cool experience though doing standup for 17 years across the world and I have my HVAC equipment sales and service company to thank for all of those memories. I still enjoy reading about the industry and seeing the latest technology coming out but as far as running my own company again that is now just a memory, albeit a great one at that.
