It’s sad that he has to wait till he is almost 70 years old to do so because a lot of his life energy will be gone by then
I just enjoy the simple things like a cup of tea and a good book by a fire during a cold cloudy winter day. A nice popping small fire in a fireplace would be nice and maybe even some incense burning in the background with my lovely lady snuggled next to me lost in her favorite novel. That doesn’t cost much to have yet gives me so much joy, and I am lucky I can do so working part time for the HVAC company near me. I like being semi-retired, as I have been for over twenty years now, as it gives me a chance to live life while I am still young. I somehow managed to semi-retire at age 32 and it has allowed me the time to do a lot of things I otherwise could not have done had I been shackled down to a full time job and family obligations like most of my friends. My one friend who is a local contractor told me that when he retires he is going to live just like I am now. It’s sad that he has to wait till he is almost 70 years old to do so because a lot of his life energy will be gone by then. We all make choices in life and he chose to run a successful HVAC business, allowing him to have endless spending money and all kinds of toys. But he doesn’t have the freedom that I have and I think freedom is the most important thing for happiness. We all make sacrifices though.
