Happy with my window air conditioner

Summers in my local area are short and unpredictable.

At best, the warm weather only lasts for a couple of months.

I am always hopeful that June, July and August will be hot and sunny. There are those years where the entire season brings nothing but gray skies, chilly temperatures and rain. There are also those years when we enjoy a gorgeous summer with blue skies and 80 degree temperatures. The humidity is often a problem. Because we never know what to expect, central air conditioning isn’t necessary. I can’t justify such a big investment into a system I might rarely utilize. For the sake of comfort and a decent night’s sleep, I bought window air conditioners for the bedrooms. I am totally satisfied with my small cooling unit. While it isn’t especially attractive and obscures the view through the window, it easily manages the requirements of my bedroom. It doesn’t matter how hot and humid the outdoor conditions, the room remains wonderfully cool. I sleep more soundly with the cooling system operating. It provides just enough noise to drown out all other sounds. I don’t hear the television when other family members stay up late. I’m not disturbed by barking dogs, early birds, traffic or the washing machine running. I like that the air conditioner actively filters out dust, dander, lint and other contaminants. My room stays cleaner and seems much healthier. Another perk is the handy remote. Without getting out of bed, I can easily adjust temperature and fan speed. I enjoy running the air conditioner so much that I install it into the window as soon as the snow melts. I usually leave the cooling unit in the window far too long. When I feel chilly air leaking in through the cooling unit, I know it’s time to remove it.
