When you actually live far out in a rural area, it can be hard to get a heating and AC service worker out to repair your heating and cooling equipment! I do not love having to depend on other people for the things I need in life and so as soon as I had the funds I set off to make myself self-reliant in numerous ways. I now grow my own food, raise my own livestock, supply my own water, and even supply my own electricity but there is a single thing that cannot be done by me. I cannot repair my own heating and AC equipment. I actually do not have a central heating and cooling equipment because of how I live these days. Instead I just have a portable ductless mini split AC and an area heater. Of course, eventually something is going to break and that is what happened with my area heater equipment. I didn’t even know how to repair it, as after all I am not a professional Heating and Air Conditioning technician. I tried to get a heating and AC tech to come out and repair it even though I figured it was extremely unlikely because of how far out I was and I was definitely right about that. I wasn’t even able to get a mobile Heating and Air Conditioning equipment supplier to come out to where I live for the exact same reason. My place is honestly so far out that it is off the main roads. To find that you have to find a tiny dirt road that runs in between a few trees. It’s pretty tough to spot if you don’t really know the area so they entirely get lost looking for me all the time. I wasn’t too ecstatic about it even though I had no choice but to take it into town. But I am looking into a solution for that, I am currently checking out the trade of being a heating and AC specialist! This way when my HVAC equipment breaks next time I can repair it myself.
