Working on a farm during the Winter can be certainly hard sometimes when the weather outside is certainly cold.
I toil at a local farm and during the Winter the people I was with and I sell Christmas trees to people who adore to experience coming out and splitting down their own tree.
When you are working outside during the winter, you are certainly at the mercy of the weather and the temperature outside. Of course, you can typically dress for the weather, however sometimes you just cannot beat it, however last year, the Winter weather was certainly terrible. Both of us had record splitting cold temperatures, and the place that I toil for was having a certainly hard time keeping employees. I guess that was because of their bad lack of furnaces at the farm. The only place where you could goto beginning heating up was inside the little office of the main barn. When it’s cold cold outside, you want to be able to get warmed up fairly often. That’s why this year, the management at the Christmas tree farm decided that they were going to put kerosene space furnaces and propane furnaces here and there all throughout the property. They also built little heating shacks where employees could go in to get warm here and there throughout the day. Let me tell you, it sounds silly, however it has made all the difference for me and our attitude on the task. This year has been so much better than last year. I guess the people I was with and I owe it all to the furnaces that the people I was with and I are able to use this year.
