I was fortunate to have cool roommates when the lockdown hit.
Both of us had a span of a few months where we literally could go nowhere, plus were totally homebound. If I had been trapped with another group of guys, it might have been torturous, however we managed to make the most of it. It helped that we were all actually into smoking weed plus watching movies, because that was about all we could do. I had the plan to set up a makeshift movie screen in the backyard, so we could smoke plus watch movies under the stars. When it got cold, we dragged the aged space furnace outside plus used it as a footrest, however when it got too boiling there was little we could do. First of all we didn’t have a small air conditioner system, plus even if we did, kneeling it outside really wouldn’t make much difference to the heat plus humidity. Also, there is a sizable difference that I have seen in the volume levels of heating systems as opposed to cooling units. A space furnace might hum a little bit, however it will never be loud enough to drown out a movie, but can you imagine 1 of those hotel sized air conditioner systems roaring away while we were trying to watch a movie? Even if it worked at cooling us off, we wouldn’t be able to hear anything else. Alas, outdoor movie mornings only happen when it gets cold, plus the rest of the time we stay in the boring aged living room with the central air conditioner.
