It wasn’t easy learning these new machines at my father’s age during this time, but he persevered. Now he’s a leader in his industry and has seen several generations of computer technology in the years since his first exposure. We can only make the most out of the circumstances in which we’re raised and from the people who brought us into existence. The only way we can learn is by asking for help from those that already possess the knowledge and experience. I thought that I could install my new window a/c on my own because I’ve seen others do it before. Despite this, I’m really thankful that my anxiety got the better of me and made me realize that I needed professional help. I called my HVAC supplier and they sent out an HVAC technician a day later to help me get my new window a/c installed in my house. I bought it for my home office to give it an independent source of air conditioning. Thankfully my HVAC supplier did the work for free as I already pay for an annual service and maintenance contract on my central HVAC system. The technician was happy to help me with my window a/c because he said that it’s a nice break from dealing with commercial HVAC systems everyday that require him to hurt his body twisting and contorting in weird angles. He was also very patient in showing me what he was doing through the whole process. Now I feel confident that I could install a window air conditioner without help in the future. But if I hadn’t reached out for help in the first place, I would have never learned!
