Hillary wanted to use his vacation days to get the beach house in order. He knew it was almost summer, and the first guests would arrive. The house had been his best investment so far, and it was generating such good income for him. But, he hadn’t done upgrades in a long time. He always wanted to be present when the work was being done, so he chose to wait. Finally, he got a month off work and went to take care of the property. He had booked the services of a local contractor and also an AC servicing company. The AC servicing company was to come in and determine the right AC unit for the house. Hillary knew it was time to replace the old cooling system. He wanted something more modern to go with the house and also energy efficiency. The last unit was failing and using too much energy to cool the beach house. The AC servicing business sent over an HVAC specialist to check the right unit size to install in the house. His inspection did confirm that the old unit was beyond repair. He also noticed the house needed a better thermostat that would work with an energy-efficient AC unit. It took the AC specialist and a colleague a day to successfully install and test the new AC system. Hillary was so happy with their excellent work that he took on a service agreement with their company. The service agreement would ensure Hillary had the unit inspected and maintained twice a year. In addition, there was a clause for 24-hour emergency repair. This would ensure guests were sorted out if the AC system ever failed or had problems.
