All the kids were going to be home for summer.
I was so glad since they hadn’t done so in a long time.
I missed having them around, and so did their dad. They were all grown and some even had families, but they were still our babies. I began planning how we were all going to spend a week of summer time with them. They were also bringing the grandkids, so the home was going to be quite full. But, we didn’t mind at all since it was only for a short duration. They all arrived at the same time, and that first night the home was in chaos, but given most people in the house, we had to crank up the cooling system. It was the only way to ensure the space was cool and comfortable for all, and cranking up the cooling plan for quite some time because someone was always complaining they were hot. Eventually, the strain we put on the cooling plan was obvious, and the component ceased working 1 Thursday morning. I was tied up making snacks for babies in the home office when I noticed the home was getting warm. I went to check the cooling plan and found our partner doing the same. The cooling plan had stopped working, and I knew it was because of all the strain we put on it. The people I was with and I had to find a better way to keep the home cool once we got it fixed. The HVAC worker who came to mend the faulty cooling plan suggested getting out the fans to assist with cooling the house. This would lower reliance on the cooling plan alone.
