It was hard for mom and dad to get away for some time ever since they had us girls.
Our parents saw it as ideal to take us with them for all trips short or long.
But, that had to change because they required time alone. Mom and dad lived busy lives and had three daughters. That came with lots of pressure which was affecting their bond. Mom and dad wanted to remain married, so dad planned a trip for mom and him. He spoke to me as the oldest about the trip and asked if I’d come to stay with the girls for the period. Mom and dad had time from work which made perfect sense. Dad’s plan was to head to a serviced cabin mom had been talking about recently. The serviced cabin was exquisite and had amazing views. Dad booked the cabin and surprised mom with the reservations the same day I showed up at our front door. Mom was beaming with joy and packed faster than I’d ever seen her do. They took a car service to the cabin, and began their holiday. As they were settling in, dad realized the cabin was warm. That was not okay since it was summer. They needed better air conditioning. Dad checked the thermostat, which had an error message on it. He called the cabin caretaker to discuss the faulty cooling system. The cabin caretaker apologized and directed an AC mechanic to check out the cooling system. The AC mechanic was an appealing lady who apologized for the faulty unit and repaired the HVAC thermostat.
