Dad couldn’t believe he wasn’t invited to our camping trip.
He seemed a little hurt but understood that it was a girl’s only affair.
My mom, small sister, and a cousin were going to travel to this amazing camping site we wanted to visit up in the mountains. We’d always talked about going on a trip together. Everyone had a chance to suggest where we were going, and we ended up agreeing on camping. Since this was an adventure, we chose to rent an RV and drive ourselves up there. While we liked camping, none of us was fond of sleeping on the hard ground. Dad checked out the RV for us since he was a trained mechanic. Everything seemed in order. But, just for caution’s sake, he asked us to bring a few things with us, including a portable AC system. Dad had checked the RV AC and seen it was in good working condition. But he didn’t want to get a call from us stating we didn’t have proper air conditioning. The location was quite remote, and getting an RV AC repair person there was next to impossible. We did as dad instructed and brought an energy-efficient portable air conditioner with us. We knew dad was right about being cautious after we suffered the same fate a few years back. We’d rented an RV and gone camping. The RV AC stopped working along the way, forcing us to drive for miles in the heat in search of an AC mechanic to save us. For this trip, we’d have an extra cooling system to keep the RV cool.
