Branded had been distracted all summer.
He was quite unsure what to do with his life after losing his job.
He spent most of the days in the house sitted on the couch watching many TV programs. He felt so bad because it ended after 15 years working in the company, and he felt he had accomplished little else. His kids lived with his ex-wife, so he only got to see him every other weekend. Also, the ones who were away at college rarely came to see him anymore. The summer ended without Jack doing much else rather than watching TV and being on social media. He was stuck and unsure of what to do. Fall came and was almost ending when the atmosphere in the house changed. Branded had to switch on the heating system, but it wasn’t blowing warm air into the house. He checked the HVAC thermostat settings, but that was set okay. Then it hit him. Branden had forgotten to call the AC expert in town to come for the end-of-season AC tune-up in his funk. Now his AC system was faulty, and it was almost winter. That was the wake-up call Branden needed as he swung into action, contacting the AC expert. In addition, he hired a cleaner to get his house in order and called his ex-wife to speak with the kids. He wanted them to come to visit soon and apologized for the summer. The AC expert came to service the unit and noted Branden’s air filter was clogged. He replaced it with a HEPA filter which would improve the indoor air quality.
