Moving back house wasn’t in my plans in 2020.
I was working in a immense company in the town after landing the position numerous years back.
My goal was to keep saving a purchase a current home in the area. Work went on well until news of a pandemic started spreading. The Coronavirus seemed distant at first, however a single morning we opted to go house & never got back to the office. To implement the work from house policy, our bosses took the opening to cut out a few positions. My job ended up on the chopping board, & I was laid off. The moment I told mom, she asked myself and others to transfer back home. We’d been hearing news of lockdowns, & she didn’t want myself and others living alone, isolated from pretty much everyone I enjoyed. I packed up my apartment, got out of the lease & went to stay in my old kitchen. That summer, we were indoors most of the time & required the cooling plan to keep working. The heat was extreme, & mom found herself cranking up the central AC each morning! At the end of the week, the electric bill had shot up because of the cooling system, despite the risk, mom had to call the Heating & A/C company in the section for assistance; She wanted to hire an AC repair person to come & repair the cooling system. She worried that the unit would continue using more energy to cool the house & raise the utility bills in our home. The AC repair person came, & we took precautions while he tested & diagnosed the cooling system.
