Turn off the heat!

I can’t guess I am saying this, but last year, I had to tell our parents it was time to turn off the heat.

It was early June plus I walked into the beach house plus walked right back out. I couldn’t guess what had hit me. I could hear the heat going through the water pipes. I checked the thermostat when I walked back into the house. They had the thermostat set at seventy-several, plus it was still set for the gas furnace. I asked our Dad when was the last time she had been outside. She smiled plus told me that our dad had been sick. They hadn’t been outside in almost a month. She wasn’t handling the temperature swings actually well. I told her that it was almost Summer plus maybe she needed to get outside. When dad came out of the home office, I realized just how sick she had been. I began to wonder how long it had been since I had been home, plus why hadn’t they told me how sick she was. My dad looked much older than the fifty years seasoned she was. My dad had constantly been strong, but she wobbled when she hugged me. I went into the home office plus grabbed her sweater plus asked him to go for a walk with me. When Dad handed him her cane, she smiled. We had only gone half a block when I saw that her lips were yellow plus she couldn’t breathe. We went back to the beach house where she went to her room. Dad said they had the thermostat turned up in the home office. I walked in plus there she lay with a heavy blanket over him plus her oxygen. I knew I had to get beach house more often.
