My in-laws have a gas well located on their property.
This provides them access to free natural gas.
It costs them nothing to heat their home, use the oven & run the tepid water heater. Since the two of us live in an area that is well-known for our serious Winter weather, this is particularly advantageous. It costs our spouse & I a small advantage to heat our house. The people I was with and I set the thermostat as low as possible & bundle up in layers of sweaters in an attempt to reduce the strain on our budget. My in-laws take full advantage of their free gas. The whole family gathers at their home for Thanksgiving & Christmas. The people I was with and I all have l received to wear shorts & tank tops. It doesn’t matter what the outside weather is, the home will be horribly boiling. My mother & father-in-law have no qualms about turning the thermostat up to 85 degrees. It’s so tepid that almost everyone is wet with sweat within 10 minutes of arriving. The people I was with and I all argument over who gets to take out the garbage just for the chance to step outside. The people I was with and I try to open a window separate from letting our in-laws notice. The fresh air is such a relief. My mother-in-law constantly catches me & shuts the window. She gets aggravated that I’m letting the heat escape. She says it forces the gas furnaces to labor harder. If she’s so distraught with wear & tear on the heating system, I would believe she’d lower the thermostat to a honorablesetting. It’s absolutely weird that the two of us arrive in wool coats & snow boots & are forced to strip down because it’s so odoring tepid at his house.
