When my boss hired his kid to work with us, I knew he was going to get all of the superb tasks.
I knew the guy was going to play favorites. It’s truly strenuous not to favor someone when the person is your first born son, and a few of my coworkers and I talked about saying something to the boss after a single huge incident took place. A week or two ago, I was busy to work downtown at the bank. They were having some new HVAC sensors installed in the vault and the deposit room. I’m consistently the guy that installs new sensors and handles the building management systems tasks. I spent three weeks in a seminar studying everything I could about BMS products care about HVAC and lighting options. I was getting ready to leave the office to head to the bank, when the boss pulled me aside and told me that Chad was going to work on the bank task that day. He told me to assist another coworker with a long and boring HVAC installation task at the grocery store. I thought the guy was joking, so I brushed him off and walked away. He grabbed my arm and told me that he was serious. I tried to stay calm and I didn’t ask a lot of questions. The anger and frustration grew inside me all day and I was ready to burst by three. I Mayed right into the bosses office and demanded an explanation for taking me off the bank task. The guy’s only reply was to tell me that he makes the schedule and I work for him.
