One of the things I always want to think about when doing business with a company is whether or not they choose to show gratitude. Even though most business owners work hard to create their companies, that does not mean that they achieved their success in a bubble of their own making. No company succeeds without other people. They need employees, service providers and of course customers. Without customers, no company is a success. In other words, they need the folks in their community. Because that is true, I always look for an attitude of gratitude when I decide to be a client of any company. Take one of the local heating and cooling companies, for example. Here in my small city, one of the HVAC businesses goes the extra effort to show support for kids. Henry’s HVAC gives a portion of its proceeds to a children’s charity. In addition, the HVAC company sponsors events throughout the city each year. During the winter festival, the HVAC company provides heating in several of the tents. Also, we have a snow mountain and an ice skating arena; both of those require lots of air conditioning because we are a southern city. We don’t exactly have snow naturally! Therefore, the HVAc company needs to provide lots of cooling for those fun kids’ projects. Because Henry’s HVAC cares about kids, I choose to do business with them when I need a/c service or repair; I will also choose them when the time comes to replace my heating and cooling system down the road.
