I truly hate being hot.

I don’t mind the freezing that much, despite the fact that I hate being hot.

That’s why I am rarely seen in public in the Wintertide wearing our Wintertide coat, then oh, I’ll put it on before I leave the house and keep it on in the car, with the gas furnace on low! But, I will take it off before I go into a public store or restaurant.

I wasn’t regularly that way. Years ago, as soon as I entered a store or restaurant in the winter, I would take off our Wintertide coat and get stuck holding and carrying the bulky thing. So, now I just leave it in the car. Sure, it’s a freezing walk from our heated vehicle to whatever heated store or restaurant that I am going to, but at least I won’t get hot. I believe these stores and restaurants want their patrons to be comfortable, but, in our opinion, most turn their thermostats up to high. Most of the patrons are dressed for the freezing weather and I believe that I am not the only one that gets hot in public sites while in the winter. I keep our own heat at beach house on 66 degrees, and while I don’t recommend the stores and restaurants do that, they really don’t need to put the heat on 85, which sometimes it feels like. I hate doing our Christmas shopping at the mall, but while the mall walkways and hallways are usually comfortable, the stores are often tepid and stuffy, and even without our Wintertide coat, I get hot. Seriously, why do they have to turn the heat up so high?
