I remember when a single of our directors was irritated when not enough people signed up for overtime hours… Evidently, we were behind on our deadlines and they needed overtime hours for us to get caught up with all the work, and well, myself and others along with many others had our families to go to, personally, I had a lot going on with our family, then i had to take our children to their games! My child had baseball practice and our son had soccer practice and not to mention our husband and I had to get out there to see their games. I thought the director was easily rude when I went to talk to him. I entirely went to see him about a concern with the air quality in the building and the lack of great temperature control settings… He said that they would eventually get an HVAC professional and then he asked why I wasn’t signing up for overtime hours. I had to point out that overtime hours were not required and if the corporation needed more hours, he could always hire more workers as needed. He seemed easily irritated and he said that we all could suffer without the AC method being fixed. He said if we didn’t want to work, we didn’t deserve satisfactory temperature control settings, but then he proceeded to shut off the AC method easily and the arena became stiflingly hot. Believe it or not, I think that I think a few weird people that choose to live separate from any kind of heat and cooling. While this might seem entirely weird to the rest of us I know there is a method to their madness. These people are minimalist, and they are trying to split out every unnecessary expense from their lives. I do not have a complication with it, and I do not think there is anything wrong with what they are doing, however as someone who doesn’t live that kind of lifestyle I do find a entirely interesting. I have a couple of friends that I didn’t even split out their Heating and cooling system, and to me this is just baffling because I cannot imagine going separate from any kind of heating during the Winter or cooling during the summer time and so I asked him how they made it. Maybe they use a space heating system or a ductless mini split AC to keep some cells cool however they didn’t even use those! Instead, I had one neighbor who used a fireplace for her home during the Winter and another who used a window air conditioning before their home during the summer. Both of these friends have long ago given up the traditional heating and cooling method they figured it was unnecessary and costly to keep one and so they chose to go separate from while it may seem different to me, if it’s working for them that is most important thing.
