After several years of not having any regular heating and AC care I decided that it would be a good time to catch up on caring for my HVAC system. So I got on the phone and scheduled an appointment with our local heating and AC business. I scheduled to have tune-ups performed as well as any necessary upgrades. When the heat and AC repairman arrived he performed the necessary tune-ups and upgrades but while he was here he also told me that it would be a good idea to go ahead and have my ductwork cleaned and resealed. I agree to this seeing that I had not had any maintenance for a while. I figured it would be better just to get everything done all at once. I watched the heating and AC specialist as he worked and he got everything done quickly and efficiently. I felt much better now that my heater and air conditioner was up to date. My only regret was that I wished I had done it sooner. I had previously been worrying for quite a while about what would happen if my furnace or my AC unit were to break down. Thankfully that can be prevented with the upgrades and tune-ups that I just had performed. I was able to feel comfortable and much more relaxed knowing that my heating and AC system was now completely taken care of. I was also happy that I had gone ahead and decided to have my ductwork resealed because now I know that my ductwork will last even longer. I have decided to start making my heating and AC tune-ups more often.

I was out gardening today when I decided to go inside and cool off under our air conditioning system.

I have been outside working for hours tending to the plants.

I had been pulling weeds, planting seeds, and watering the plants. Now I was ready to relax inside the house a bit and cool off. When I went over to the thermostat however I noticed a strange noise coming from the ceiling. Even stranger, when I went to turn on the thermostat the air conditioner wouldn’t come on. I knew I could call a heating and cooling specialist to come out and take a look at what was going on but I figured I could do it myself. I decided to take a look inside my air vents because it sounded like it could possibly be coming from there. When I opened up my air vents I screamed. There was a snake in there! I couldn’t believe it and how in the world did it even get in there? I did my best to get a net and capture the snake and release it outside. After the snake had been removed I tried turning on the AC system again and this time it worked. Wherever the snake was and whatever it was doing was somehow causing a blockage. Now that I have been fixed I could enjoy the cold air.

This Saturday I decided to take my kids out to a baseball game.

My son is a huge fan of baseball and it was nice to get out with a family and do something fun.

We don’t get to do these kinds of things often enough. I’m almost always busy with work and the kids are working hard through school but I knew that having a day of fun was long overdue. I was imagining my children looking back at their childhood, and I wanted when they were adults to be able to look back on fond memories of doing fun things with their parents and not just remembering working all through their school days. Don’t get me wrong I understand that schooling is important, but I saw no issue in pulling them out of school for a day to have some fun. My kids go to the school or sometimes there are classes on Saturdays and this was one of those cases. We made our way into the stadium where we found some seats while I made my way over to the concession stand and bought us all some food and drinks. We had a really great time. What was better even more so than the game was the heating and air conditioning. The seats we got were perfect. We were right next to a commercial HVAC unit and I could feel the cool air coming out of the air conditioning system. This was perfect because it was already a hot day out. The air conditioner just gave the added effect that we needed. We had a great day already but the AC being at the right place at the right time just gave everything the perfect touch.

I have about enough with my local heating and air conditioning company.

• I’m not sure what it is about this specific Heating and cooling business but it feels like they can never get anything right.

Every time they have come out to my home they have done nothing but mess up. The most recent example of this is with my brand new air conditioner. After a long 20 years of using my old AC system I decided to go ahead and finally have it replaced with a brand new and moderate air conditioner. The old air conditioner was still going but it was time for an upgrade. I was excited when I had purchased the air conditioning system from my local heating and AC business. I was even more excited when I saw the HVAC van pulled into my driveway and the heating and cooling repair man came out to perform the installation. However not all went to plan because the heating and AC guy ended up completely messing up the installation process and in doing so also messed up my brand new air conditioner. I was so upset! This was not the first time since what I like to say happened. I’m not even sure how it’s possible but somehow the same HVAC technician had managed to also mess up an air filter of mine only a couple of months ago. I know at this point you might be thinking well maybe it’s just this one specific heat and cooling guy that is having issues. But that’s not the case! I have had three other additional Heating and cooling guys come to my home for various repairs, services, and installations of different HVAC products and the result is the same every single time. This time I had enough and I told him I wanted a refund for my air conditioner which I was given. Then I found business elsewhere. I had had enough, the air conditioner was the final straw.

It has been a hot but relaxing day and I was looking forward to returning to my wonderful air conditioning system

Ever since the COVID is locked down I have been doing my best to stay inside to prevent the spread. However after being inside with almost no outside exposure for several months I simply couldn’t take it any longer. I had noticed a deterioration in my indoor air quality and being inside my house with its stagnant air was almost impossible now. It was making me miserable and I decided to take the risk of going outside if it meant that I could breathe some fresh air. I figured it would be okay as long as I made sure I wasn’t around any other people, I could stay six feet apart however I decided to create a bigger boundary than that. Instead I walked outside my house and went to a small area where there were no people. From there I enjoyed getting a large breath of fresh air. It was so different from being inside, normally my air conditioning system does an excellent job of keeping my indoor air quality in good shape however as of recently even my air conditioner wasn’t doing it for me. Nothing had changed and my air conditioning was just working perfectly fine, but after being inside for so long even the air conditioner became not enough. I stayed outside in that small wooded area behind my house with no other people around. Even though I was all alone it was one of the best things that I did for myself. By the time I returned home I was ready to cool off. It has been a hot but relaxing day and I was looking forward to returning to my wonderful air conditioning system. I went into my bedroom and laid on my bed. My bed is directly underneath the ceiling air vent and I just stretched out and relaxed as I felt the cool air from the AC system cool me down. It had been a good day.

I work as a heating and air conditioning professional, and let me tell you that when I go out to somebody’s house to repair either the heater or the air conditioner I’m never entirely sure what I’m going to expect when I arrive there.

You meet all kinds of people as well as all kinds of heating and cooling systems of all ages and types.

Majority of the people that I have met are very kind and are happy to accommodate me and explain everything that is wrong with her heating and air conditioning system. However they’re always those views that are the exception to this and I have had some customers that are very difficult to work with. I’ve even had a few people that wouldn’t even want to tell me what was wrong with their heating or air conditioning system, instead they would expect me to just look at it and immediately figure it out. While I’m sure I could figure out if I was to look at it, it is far easier if I have cooperation. I have even had a few heating and air conditioning customers of mine that have just been downright rude. They have this expectation that I would come out for 5 minutes immediately, repair it for practically free, and then leave. They were not happy when they had to pay the price of me coming over or if it took longer than 5 minutes. Some of the repairs I’ve had to perform can be complicated and can take a while as well as the customers know up front that they’re going to have to pay for their services so I’m not sure why they insist on giving me a hard time about having to pay for a service. My most recent example of this was when I went to a man’s house who was insistent that he should have his heater repaired for free. He wasn’t very happy when I told him that he too had to pay for the repair service. Even though I make a few bad apples every now and then, I still love being a heating and AC technician and I meet more good and nice people than irritating people.

Every few years I like to do a big clean up of the house.

My house has a tendency to accumulate a lot of stuff, and every time I go and do a thorough cleaning I end up finding things that had long been missing and this year was no different.

I decided to do some spring cleaning of sorts. Except it wasn’t spring it was actually in the fall I wanted to have the house nice and ready for when guests would be coming over for the holidays. So I decided to first tackle the garage in the basement. I had a million different items stacked up in the garage and I had no idea where to even start so I just chose the side and started sorting through things one at a time. I made a few different piles. A pile I was keeping, I probably was donating, and a pile that was just trash. Congratulations one by one I went through everything before I moved on to the basement with the garage having been finished. When I was in the basement I was sorting through all the items and I noticed something that looked out of place. Something looked like an air conditioner. I just had to take a closer look and sure enough it was exactly as I thought it was a small portable ductless mini split air conditioning system. I was completely amazed. I completely forgot that I had even had this. Now that I know about it, you better believe I had plans to use it, I could always use a backup in case my central air conditioning system stops working. I added it to my other HVAC items that I had in the house. My standing air purifiers, my HEPA filter, and my space heater. I just wanted to be perfect to use this summer when the weather gets hot. I could use it to cool the house alongside the central air conditioning system and I have to worry about hot air but instead enjoy the cool air that comes out of the air vents. I became relaxed just thinking about it.

Recently my wife and my daughter have decided to interact with the local wildlife in my backyard.

I have absolutely no problem with that and as a matter of fact I really enjoy watching the wildlife.

They were putting out bird feeders for the birds and nuts for the squirrels. I really enjoyed watching the birds that would gather around at the feeders to collect the seeds and the squirrels that would stuff as many nuts in their cheeks as possible before running away to either stash them or eat them all. The only problem was I noticed that the bird feeders were really close to the heating and air conditioning system and as a result of this as the birds were flying over many of them were pooping on my HVAC system. Now I am a big animal lover, but I do not want the birds pooping on my heating and cooling system so I decided to think of a way that would get them away from my heating and air conditioning system. I decided to ask my wife and my daughter to move the bird feeders so that they would not be flying over the system and they did. I really like the look of my heating and cooling system and I do not want it to be dirty. Plus I cannot help it to be afraid of what if somehow that gets inside of it and it gets in the house. I do not want bad indoor air quality. Thankfully my wife and my daughter agreed and they moved the bird for you outside and that took care of most of the problem. The birds very quickly learned where the new feeder was so I started going there instead. This was a perfect solution because I really didn’t want to have to scare them away because we were all enjoying watching them. Now I can continue enjoying their company while also enjoying my heating and AC system.

I am not happy with the neighborhood that I live in. And I have pain and it is not a safe neighborhood to live in but it is not because of the people that live there, as a matter of fact the people that live there are very nice but it is because we have a high population of stray dogs. The community has been fighting back against this by having a very intense spay and neuter program to help with the population of the stray dogs. The rest of the streets have always been readily rounded up and are trying to be adopted out to families as long as they are tame enough. However while many of the dogs have been captured not all have managed to be caught. There are still two or three that were in the neighborhood and unfortunately they are the aggressive ones. People are constantly wandering around in fear afraid that they’re going to be the attack. As if that was bad enough they are also extremely destructive, I left a brand new space heater outside. Now if you’re wondering what I was doing with my space heater outside I had taken it outside to clean some dust off of it. I went back inside to get a dusting cloth and when I came back out I saw a dog chewing on it. Now my wonderful space here has two marks all over it. I was not happy about the situation at all and now I was forced to go down to the heating and air conditioning company to buy a brand new space heater because the dogs destroyed mine. It started with one dog but eventually the whole pack ran off with my space heater. I’ve never seen it again.

When I took apart our first air conditioner system, I didn’t know that I was taking a glimpse into our future, my father was the handyman for a local hotel at the time, plus I would spend a lot of time at work with him. Both of us didn’t have cash for a sitter ,or afternoon care, so after school I just went to the hotel with him plus carried his tools around. Sporadically I got to watch cartoons in the room as he did his repairs, so overall it wasn’t too bad. One of the tasks he hated the most was working on the air conditioner systems in the rooms, because it seemed like they broke down all the time. One afternoon I told our dad that the maids should check the air filters in the AC units whenever they cleaned a room. He asked myself and others why I said that, plus I replied that the main cause of the air conditioner systems overheating was due to blocked up air filters. If the maids checked plus changed the air filters properly, then there wouldn’t be so much building up dust plus dirt, plus there would be fewer AC concerns. My dad passed the air filter plan on to the management, who implemented it plus gave our dad a raise! Since the air filter plan had been mine, he took myself and others out for ice cream, plus told myself and others that he wanted to start teaching myself and others a lot more about Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C systems. He knew I was smart, plus that reading the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C trade would provide myself and others a great future.
