I thought it sounded like a relaxing system when my buddies were talking about breaking out the aged college mix tapes I made so long ago. They wanted to listen to some of the aged college jams we all enjoyed so much back in the afternoon when we would smoke ganja and dig into the munchies. I truthfully couldn’t even remember what I put on those mix tapes but went ahead and got my aged boombox out that absolutely plays cassette tapes. I know, who uses cassettes anymore? Hey, those aged cassettes are a treasure to have, it’s a part of our history! We all laughed when music came on from Bell Biv Devoe ‘poison’ and ‘do me baby.’ It’s not that you could just skip to the next track either, and remember, we’re talking aged college cassettes where you have to fast forward and getting to the next track can be a little tricky if you don’t think how to time it right. I was starting to reminisce about back in the afternoon. We would commonly hang out in the garage of my parents house and we even had a window air conditioning unit in there for the summertime season, when we would hang out the most. Of course, these afternoons it’s a whole level. Max decided to choose a cleaning supplier with wonderful reviews.

My husband Max & I decided to host my family this year for the holidays. My sibling & his partner came over to stay for 3 mornings. They also brought three children & more than one cat. My older brother & his new husband came for a couple of mornings as well. I wanted everyone to stay in the home together, so Max & I cleaned out the attic & the basement. Neither a single of the spaces are connected to the central heating & a/c, so we purchased a space heating system to keep upstairs & downstairs. Everyone was quite comfortable in their own space. After Christmas was over & everyone had gone home, Max & I walked around the house. It was completely trashed. The basement & the attic look far worse than they did before we cleaned. My husband & I looked at each other. Neither Max or I wanted to tackle the mess. When I mentioned hiring a cleaning service or janitorial business, Max was over-the-moon glad with the idea. She instantly got on his cellphone & started to look for a residential cleaning business. There were a ton of various cleaning companies available, & most of the prices were the same. Max decided to choose a cleaning supplier with wonderful reviews. The cleaning supplier sent more than three professional women to the home on the same day. They started in the basement & cleaned everything from the bottom floor all the way to the attic. When they were finished, the home looked entirely brand new. The cost of the cleaning crew was lavish, but they were worth every penny after these results.

My husband Max & I visited with my sick Mom last weekend.

It was the first time I had seen him in 6months.

Work has been so deranged and tied up & we have more than one current buyer that demands a lot of our time & energy. Business has been good, however I wanted to take some time to see my sick Mom. I talked with Mom on the cellphone & he sounded depressed. I knew something wasn’t right, so Max and I planned the weekend trip. I did not expect to find a mess in the house, but it seemed very clear that my Mom was not taking care of himself & the house. I mentioned moving her to the neighborhood where my husband & I live & my Mom got upset. Mom told myself and others that he would never leave the house. I told my Mom that I wanted to help. Max & I talked for a couple of hours & he mentioned a maid for hire. A cleaning service would undeniably help my Mom. The next day we started looking at professional cleaning services. A maid for hire cost an arm & a leg, but my husband & I did not leave until we found someone that my Mom liked. We interviewed multiple cleaning men on Sunday & my Mom chose an undoubtedly sweet older guy with a Southern accent & plenty of appeal & charm. Max & I are paying for that made & the cleaning service. As long as my Mom allows them to do their tasks, it will entirely help mom take better care of himself & the house.

When Max broke a hip, I was sad to find a way for him to stay in his home.

Max didn’t want to move in with me, so I found him the next best thing.

I talked to the Area Agency for Aging and inquired if they would arrange for a visiting nurse to come by the condo and make sure Max was okay. Not only did they get a visiting nurse, it was a nurse who would help Max dress, give him physical therapy and even tidy up around the house. I asked about meal delivery services for the elderly and they said they could also arrange for a meal delivery repair that would take care of all Max’s meals every month for as long as it was needed. They said they loved to take donations, however it wasn’t a necessity. The meal delivery repair not only delivered food to Max, however the gentleman who delivered it wasn’t much younger than Max, and he just broke his hip a year earlier. Max couldn’t stop talking about his new friend. I couldn’t believe the visiting nurse and the man who did the meal delivery repair would make such an impact on Max and on his mood. He looked more than nine years younger and had more energy than I had witnessed since I was much younger. I’m wondering if they have a meal delivery repair for people in their fifties. Maybe I’ll get more energy and keep up with Max. On the other hand, if I walk with Max every morning, love he asks myself and others to, I’ll entirely get more energy and lose some of this weight, without meal delivery services.

It was our fiance’s and my 1st Christmas holiday together as fiances.

I had invited his parents and our parents for Christmas holiday lunch.

My fiance Bob was consistently bragging about our culinary skills, and Bob was proud to have myself and others show them off. The turkey was all set to slide in the oven and I had spent most of the night preparing the casseroles for the oven. I even made some homemade loaves of bread. By noon, Bob was upset because he wasn’t smelling the delicious scent of roasting turkey. Bob’s parents were to be there at two, and if the turkey wasn’t cooking now, there would not be a cooked meal on the table by six. I began to panic and was in the middle of a crying jag when our mother showed up. The turkey roaster had died and the turkey wasn’t even warm. All of us placed it in the oven then Bob went online. I told his it was too late to purchase another turkey roaster. Bob told myself and others that it wasn’t too late to order a cooked turkey to eat for Christmas lunch. Unfortunately, nearly every pizzeria in the town was closed down for the holiday. The only venue opened was a Chinese pizzeria. All of us got meal deliveries from the local Chinese pizzeria. All of us ordered spare ribs, fried hunan chicken and even numerous orders of shrimp and scallops. The meal delivery driver charged us quite a bit, however it was better than no Christmas lunch. Thanks to these meal delivery services, our Christmas lunch was saved. After lunch, I was stressed when I realized that I had forgotten to put the pies in the oven. All of us went back online and found that I could buy dessert online.

As luck would have it, our furnace tore up just before the temperature started dropping this year.

That seems like something that would happen to me, though.

I always have terrible luck when it comes to things like plumbing, electrical, and heating and cooling systems in our house. I don’t ever have good luck with things like that. It’s one of those things that really bothers me about myself! I feel like I never make sure that things are well maintained or taken care of. Whenever the furnace stopped working this year when the weather started getting cold, I thought about the fact that I had not even tried to make an appointment with the HVAC company to have the furnace checked out for the year. I knew that it was all my own fault, but it still made me mad. I mean, I feel like things like this shouldn’t continually happen to me, even though there are things that I could do to prevent it. I guess that sometimes I feel like I am the punching bag for the entire universe. I am constantly having trouble with my heating and cooling system at my house, and so when the furnace tore up this year when the weather started cooling off, it just reminded me of all the other times that it happened to me. It’s super frustrating. I think I’m going to have to end up purchasing an entirely new HVAC system for my house eventually. I guess it’s just wishful thinking to think that I’m going to be able to deal with it the way that it is for very much longer. I probably should have changed it out a long time ago.

Whenever we met online, I never really thought about where my husband and I would live.

We were both too busy being ridiculously in love to stop and worry about silly mundane things like where we were going to live or what kind of climate it might be in.

At that point, we were so busy with each other that we didn’t even think to ask which hemisphere we were living in! It didn’t matter at that point, but now that we are married it does matter. At this point in my life, I wish I would have used better sense and found out the type of place that my husband was living in. I wish I had asked him before I agreed to marry him that’s for sure! We decided that we would live together in his house since it was already paid for, and all that seemed to make sense at first. But when I met him for the first time, I realized that the type of climate that he lived in was not going to work for me! It is so hot where he lives out on a tropical island that I always feel like I’m going to just melt. The bad thing about it is that even though he never has to have a heating system in his home, he is constantly worried about the air conditioning for some reason. I’m from the other side of the world, basically. I tend to worry about completely different things. I’m from a very cold part of the world and wasting heating was never something that we would ever even think about doing! Not only that, but we always had three sources of heating: a fireplace, a wood burning stove, and our furnace. My husband’s house only has one and it’s not very good!

My husband tore our furnace up when he was trying to fix it. I hate to say it, but this was not a complete surprise to me. It seems like my husband does something like this every couple of months or so, and he ends up costing us way more money than we would actually need to spend on a regular repair job. I don’t know if he has male answer syndrome or what, but he always feels like he has to try to fix things around the house even though he doesn’t know all that much about fixing anything or doing repairs or maintenance. He is just one of those guys who likes to feel very manly, and he thinks that he should be the one to repair the plumbing, electrical work, and heating and cooling systems at the house. I keep telling him that if he’s not trained in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems, then there is no possible way that he’s going to be able to fix those sorts of things. There is a reason that people go to school to get HVAC certifications and plumbing and electrical certificates. Of course, he never listens to me when I’m complaining to him about this sort of thing and he always persists in trying to fix things himself. Last week, our heating system wasn’t working correctly and he decided that he was going to try and fix the furnace himself. This turned into a whole big thing, and he ended up basically tearing the furnace apart in making everything worse than it was to begin with.
