We went to the local zoo in the frosty weather the other day, even though the temperature outside was almost frigid, and the weather around here gets rarely frosty while during the winter, plus it feels as if it stays gray around here for months at a time… I entirely start missing the sun right around this time of every year.

This is when you kind of have to come out of hibernation to go out whether it’s sunny outside or not.

I felt care about that about going to the zoo, even though the temp outside was entirely cold. I think it was entirely in the 20s, however the two of us opted to go to the local zoo anyway, and we turned the oil furnace on full blast in the automobile on the way there, since the two of us knew how the two of us were going to be out in the frosty for the rest of the day. When the two of us arrived at the local zoo, the two of us saw all kinds of people bundled up in Wintertide overcoats plus boots plus hats. We knew that it was going to be entirely cold, plus the wind was blasting to make it even worse, however once the two of us got inside of the local zoo area, the two of us thought that the two of us had made a bad mistake. It was chilly. They did have a couple of those big propane furnaces set up here plus there around the main square spaces near the food court, however those furnaces did not make that much of a difference unless you were sitting right next to them. We ended up spending most of our day inside of the elephant house, even though it was still pretty stinky there, the two of us were sizzling enough! The furnaces inside of the elephant home were running full blast the whole time that the two of us were in there!

My sibling Pat, who is a grown woman, is entirely acting as an immense baby.

She says that she refuses to come over to our new home again this Winter time because both of us just keep it too chilly inside.

Pat says that she is just too fragile to be in our chilly house for truly long. Pat says that she needs to be someplace which is cozy and sizzling because of her fragile bone structure. Honestly, sometimes I can’t help but just roll my eye at Pat. Some of the things that Pat says are so silly that I can’t even believe that they even come out of her mouth. And really, much of the time, I can’t believe that both of us have the same parents. She is such a weirdo. I can hardly believe that she basically refuses to come over and visit unless both of us set our thermostat settings in our own home to her particularations. I mean, can you entirely get more selfish than that? I can hardly believe that she is the way that she is sometimes. I mean, I go over to Pat’s home in the summertime and I don’t ever demand that she turn down the a/c because the temp in the home is too hot! I just guess love she should return the favor. But no, Pat has never been someone who will believe of other people. It’s constantly me, me, myself and others with Pat. It’s been that way ever since both of us were kids. Well, I’m not changing the heating settings for her, so Pat can just stay away from us.

I knew it wasn’t going to be cheap to replace the HVAC unit in my mom and dad’s house.

I knew that’s why they were taking their time to have the work done.

I wanted to get the heating and AC system replaced before I moved across the country. I was really worried about my mom and dad being alone, but I had a job offer that was too good to pass up. One of the things that my parents called me about during the winter months is the furnace. I thought a new HVAC system would cut down on a lot of the problems they regularly have. My dad did not want me to pay for the new heating and air conditioning system, but I insisted. My parents were happy for the new equipment, but the cost of the new equipment was steep. It was nearly $7,000 to update the furnace and air conditioner. The new machine is much more energy efficient than the old one. It even came with multiple rebates from the city and the state. I left for the new job a couple of months after my mom and dad got the new furnace and air conditioner. They felt like I was leaving them for good and they were upset. They claimed that the new furnace and air conditioner was a way to keep them from getting upset, but that clearly didn’t work. My mom was more upset than I’ve ever seen her, even when I went all the way across the country for college.

I work as an HVAC technician and most of my job involves helping customers with heating and AC repair.

I often work on installation jobs too, but most of my job is repairs. When customers called for a repair, they speak to a man or woman in the dispatch office. The dispatch office routes the calls to the specific shop that handles the area where the customer is located. We never actually speak to the customer, because the dispatch center handles all of the customer service. When I have a customer that wants to complain about scheduling, there is literally no way for me to help. I have nothing to do with scheduling for the appointments. Still, every once in a while someone will blow up and get angry. Last Monday a customer got upset because she wanted the AC repair scheduled for 2 p.m. I showed up at 12 p.m. Someone from the office would have called the customer to confirm the fact that I was on the way. At that time, the customer could have told the dispatch office that she was not ready for me to arrive and we would have waited until 2 p.m. to help with the AC repair. When I showed up at noon, the woman lost her cool. She got mad and I tried to tell her that I didn’t schedule the appointment. I assured her that it was likely an easy mix up and even offered to come back after my next appointment. The woman called the head office and spoke with the dispatch department. She wanted to speak with the manager, but I don’t think she ever had the chance.

My wife and I purchased a beautiful loft apartment for 1.1 million dollars. We were upset when we found out that the space could not have a fireplace. The building codes did allow for the addition of a vented area out of the apartment space. My wife desperately wanted a fireplace in our home. I spoke to several local contractors about the problem. A couple of the guys suggested an electric fireplace. I didn’t think my wife was going to be entirely keen on that idea, but she surprised me. She thought the electric fireplace was a great idea and thought we should get some contractors to the apartment to have a couple of estimates. After we chose the right contractor for the job, my wife and I made plans to start the project. The contractor worked on the fireplace for 72 hours. The guy did exceptional work. He removed some pieces of the wall and seamlessly transitioned the wall to the fireplace. When he was done with the installation job, the electric fireplace looked like it was part of the house. It was impossible to tell that the machine had recently been installed. It looked really good in the spot that we chose. Even though we won’t have the smell of wood burning during the winter, at least we will have that added warmth of the electric heater. That should honestly help cut down on some of our heating bills during the months of December, January, and February when we regularly have snow on the ground and temperatures colder than freezing.

It honestly takes a lot for me to get upset and frustrated. I have a great deal of patience. It is probably one of my best features. I do my best to remain calm when other people might lose control. I have been tested a lot lately and I failed miserably when I had an appointment set up with an HVAC contractor. The contractor was supposed to install a ductless HVAC unit in the basement work space. When I contacted the contractor to set up the appointment, he wanted to schedule the work for Monday. I wanted to get the work done on Thursday. We came to our agreement, but on Thursday the contractor did not show up. I called the guy a couple of times. He told me there was a mix-up and some confusion and apologized immensely for the delay. He promised to be there the next day. The following day was Friday, and the contractor came up with another excuse. This time he said it was a problem to get the machine items from the supply dealership. When the HVAC contractor finally had the supplies and the time to do the job, it was Monday. All that time, he wanted to wait until Monday to do the job and he made that come true. I was very alarmed and aggravated, but I really wanted to get the work done and I didn’t want to call another contractor and go through the same kind of trouble with someone else. I won’t use the guy again for future projects though. You can bet on that.

One of my co-workers is a guy named Jack.

Jack is easily one of the nicest and friendliest guys that I have ever known.

He is helpful and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. I’m lucky that the two of us have become friends. I feel blessed to know the guy. Unfortunately, I don’t have the same happy and nice feelings about the guy’s wife. He is a total train wreck and a disaster. She isn’t happy about anything at all. I honestly think the two of them should get a divorce, but Jack believes in trying to make the relationship work. A couple of weeks ago, Jack and I were working downtown on a furnace repair. Jack’s wife called on the phone three times. He planned to let the phone go to voicemail, but the woman called three times in a row and Jack was worried there might be an emergency with one of his five kids. There was no emergency except for the fact that the woman wanted to complain about Jack leaving his laundry on the stairs. I heard the entire conversation between the two of them, even though I was practically on the other side of the room. That’s how loudly she was yelling at my coworker and friend. When the guy got off the phone, we finally had a chance to finish the furnace repair. His wife called three more times before we actually finished with the furnace repair and that was just one day throughout the week. It’s like that nearly every single day when we work together.

My girlfriend and I went to a hotel on Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. We have an apartment, but we have a couple of roommates and we never really have total privacy. I thought it would be nice to go to a hotel to celebrate our special day. We went to the hotel after I finished work. My girlfriend had everything packed and ready to go. The two of us were excited about our adventure. My girlfriend and I got to the hotel and there was no one in the lobby. We waited for a couple of minutes before someone finally came out of the office to greet us. We were on the third level of the hotel, despite the fact that my girlfriend and I requested a room on the first level. When we entered the room and I saw that the HVAC unit was off, I was terribly agitated. It was pretty warm outside and the hotel staff should have had our room ready. Having the room ready in my opinion means making sure that the temperature levels are comfortable. When I turned on the air conditioner and it didn’t work, I was even more upset. I went down to the lobby to talk to the clerk and I lost my temper. I complained and yelled until the guy gave in to my demands. I would have preferred to leave after having the encounter with the clerk, but at least I got the guy to move us to a better place. We ended up in a suite on the first floor that was open the whole time. Of course, it was nearly twice as much money.

A couple of years ago, my best friend and I started a small repair business together.

The two of us were both working for a nationally-known HVAC repair company.

There was no room for advancement and both of us were fed up with the management. I had the capital to start the project and Jack agreed to leave the company to go into business with me. We never really discussed much about the business when it came to finding. Once I got my initial investment, we split things down the middle and shared all of the profits. Jack and I eventually had a falling-out and he decided to move out of town. We didn’t speak to each other for three years. I didn’t know anything about the guy or if he decided to start a repair business of his own. I didn’t know anything about Jack until I was served with a subpoena to go to court. The guy is suing me for a million bucks. He claims that I stole that business from him and made him walk away from a lifetime of profits. I completely and totally disagree, and I hate the fact that I’m going to have to get a lawyer and fight the guy in court. There is absolutely no proof that we intended to remain in business together for the rest of our lives and Jack doesn’t have anything in writing that states I would ever give him profits beyond the money that the HVAC business was making from week to week. I don’t know how the guy even has a case.

One of my biggest commercial clients called last Friday, and the guy was panicked and worried because he heard very strange sounds inside of the ductwork.

He described the sound to the best of his ability.

I honestly thought it sounded like a raccoon, but I couldn’t really figure out how a raccoon would end up inside of the ductwork. I told the customer that a raccoon would probably require the help of an exterminator. He agreed to pay all of the costs associated and begged me to help on the same day. I agreed and decided to check out the situation before I contacted anyone else for help. I met the customer downtown at the warehouse and I stood outside the room where the noise was coming from for a while. I did not hear the same noises that the guy was describing, but I believed that he was hearing a strange sound. I told the customer that I would use a camera to look into the ductwork for signs of any issues. I was moving through the duct work swiftly but carefully, and I ran right into the raccoon. It didn’t see the camera until I was right on top of him. The raccoon let out the most piercing scream and I dropped the camera I was using. It took me a moment to get my bearings. The wild animal startled me. I honestly did not expect to see any signs of life inside of the ductwork. After seeing proof of life, I decided to contact a local exterminator that I work with frequently. He met me at the business and we removed the raccoon from the ductwork.
