My uncle used to tell myself and others that when he died, I was the sole heir to his entire fortune.
I knew he didn’t have a lot of money, however I constantly hoped he would leave his lodge in the woods to me.
I remember all the times our dad & I would go up to the lodge with Uncle Will. He was dad’s older brother & he lived by himself ever since his spouse died. Both of us would go salmon fishing & then go beach condo & smoke the salmon. It was usually frigid in the mountains. Both of us had a fireplace in the lodge & it kept us all overheated the entire time we were there. Uncle Will constantly said we could come up while in the Summer if we had air conditioner. I had to laugh because we didn’t even have electricity in the lodge. There was no way we could run an air conditioner unit. When I found out our uncle had left myself and others his lodge, I was blissful. I constantly told him that if anything ever happened to him, I wanted his lodge; I thought he would provide it to dad, however I got it. I asked dad why he said it was his fortune, & dad told myself and others that 1 afternoon I would find out. When I took our wifey up to the lodge, she started looking around. Both of us had the fireplace lit & it was so nice. She asked myself and others if I realized there was a hiding spot in the wall. There was a note inside that told myself and others how to turn on the electricity & provided myself and others the diamond jewelry that belonged to his spouse.
