When my wife and I moved into our home, we didn’t have ductwork so we knew we couldn’t get central air conditioning. We bought a window air conditioning unit for our bedroom and one for our living room. They kept our home cool all summer long. We never put them on high because it got too cold. As our family grew, so did the number of air conditioning units. We now had window air conditioners in all three bedrooms and in the living room. I planned on purchasing one for my home office. Once the pandemic hit, having an air conditioner in my office was one of the smartest moves I had ever made. I was spending 80% of my time in the office with the door closed, trying to get some work done. My son was locked up in his room with the computer, trying to learn something. My daughter was in her room supposedly taking online college classes. I had a funny feeling she was talking to her boyfriend more than she was learning. My husband was still working at the hospital since he was part of the essential workers team. When the pandemic started winding down, my husband was coming home, but my kids were still home. One evening, he brought home a window air conditioning unit so we could have one in the dining room. We were spending a lot of time in the dining room where we sat as a family and played games. My husband would be cooking with them when he was home. We now have one air conditioner in every room of the house.
