I can’t figure out why anyone would take the long way around when there was a shorter distance.
I thought the same way when I decided to repair my air conditioning unit. I had the schematics, but from what I was seeing, there seemed to be a better way to get to where I needed to go than what they were showing. I just wanted to remove the fan and get inside. I thought that removing the fan from the air conditioner would get me inside more quickly. By the time I had the fan removed, I had already bent two fan blades and I had broken a couple of wires. I knew that if I told my wife to call the HVAC company, she would be angry and tell me she told me so. I didn’t want to hear her smart comments. I grabbed my cell phone and brought up my contacts. When I got to the HVAC company, I asked them to come out and help. I talked to one of the techs I knew well. He asked what I had done, and when I told him about the fan blades, he said he would bring a new fan along and a wiring harness. I guess he was used to me trying to work on the HVAC system. He knew exactly what to bring just by asking me a few questions. He already knew I needed a new fan and a wiring harness, I wondered what else he would bring with him.
