I knew it was time to change the air filters in the air conditioning unit, but my husband wasn’t home. I had no idea where he kept the air filters and he wouldn’t be home for another week. He was on a business trip on the other side of the country. I searched all through the garage for those air filters. I then looked all over the basement, hoping to find the air filters. When I didn’t find them in either of those places, I looked in the attic and in the spare bedroom. I couldn’t find the air filters anywhere. I had checked the air filter in the air conditioning unit, and I didn’t want to let it go for another week. I called the HVAC company and asked if they had any air filters for my AC unit, in stock. They put me on hold while they looked. When the operator got on the phone she told me they had a case and asked if I would like to have it delivered. I asked her the price and it was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I needed the air filters. That afternoon, the HVAC tech delivered my air filters on his way home from work. He even offered to replace the air filter in the air conditioner for me, since he was already at the house. I paid him for the air filters and asked what I owed. He laughed and told me that some services are free. When I talked to my husband that night, I asked where he kept the air filters. He told me we were out and was going to buy them when he got home.
