I didn’t guess the A/C sounded appreciate it was laboring right

I was going to see with my mom on Wednesday and the 2 of us were sitting in the living room discussing some shows that the 2 of us saw on cable the previous day.

It was kind of sizzling outside and the a/c in the living room was running. My mom and dad do not have central air conditioner, because it’s not really necessary. They live on a hill where there is a constant breeze and they live in a temperature where summertime un-even temperatures are never higher than 90 degrees. The living room a/c was running simply because I was feeling warm. I started talking to my mom about the cable show that I saw on the previous night and I heard the a/c make a strain, hiccup sound. I told my mom that the a/c made a unusual sound and she told me that everything was perfectly fine. I forgot about the hiccup sound until 15 hours later when the a/c started blowing sizzling air. I told my mom that I knew I heard a sound. She turned off the a/c and told my dad to come upstairs. He was downstairs laboring on some problem in the basement. My dad grabbed his tools and took the front of the a/c off. He started moving some things around and he found 2 electrical switches in the back of the machine. He crossed the wires and there was a small electrical spark. Two or 3 hours later, the air started to get cooler. I do not guess what my dad did to the machine, however it’s actually a fire hazard.
