I was certainly nervous when I learned that our parents were suffering from bad immune plan health! The doctor spoke with myself and others and recommended that I help them get a certain heating and A/C update in their house—a special UV air cleaner… He explained that the UV light kills viruses and other types of pathogens, then it also utilizes a HEPA filter in which he explained pulls most of the contaminants from the air and improves the air quality substantially.
He said that they should be doing better with the improved air quality in their home.
He told me and others that he explained it to them, but they didn’t seem to like it, so I took the doctor’s orders absolutely seriously and called the heating and A/C supplier first to make arrangements for a UV air purification plan replacement. I told them to make sure it used HEPA filters because I wanted our parents to be more comfortable in their final years of life. I also didn’t want to have to get them into a nursing home, however I was considering hiring an in-condo nurse to help them out. The first thing on the agenda though was the regular heating and A/C equipment. The heating and A/C professional told myself and others that if I was looking to improve the air quality, I should also have the ductwork cleaned and consider using HEPA filters in the heating and A/C unit as well. I thought that was brilliant, and so I went for those homeowner solutions as well, and my parents told myself and others I didn’t have to do all this for them, but there was noticeable improvement with their health and I let the doctor recognize all about it.
