Our dog is totally weird when it comes to people coming to the house.
For some reason when there are plumbers, HVAC professionals, or other contractors who come to the house, he freaks out and barks at them when they are coming to the door.
Usually if the people are new to the house and our dog doesn’t recognize them, he really goes nuts. That is until we invite the person into the house. As soon as the person gets in the house, our dog totally switches up the tune and suddenly wants to play around and be nice. There is a slight problem with our dog jumping on the people, but other than that he doesn’t try to bite or act ferociously at all. Oh man, we had a new HVAC professional come out to the house recently and the guy practically looked like he was ready to run when we were trying to let him inside the house. It was tough to contain our dog. Even when we temporarily put him in the guest bedroom, he managed to break the door open and went running for the HVAC professional. The HVAC professional screamed in fear but our dog only licked him and was acting friendly. We had to explain to the guy that our dog is actually very nice to people when they come into the house. He was still cautious around our dog but he went to take care of the HVAC maintenance and then quickly ran on his way when he left the house. He was afraid our dog would start barking at him again, but our dog kept his cool.
