When Max broke a hip, I was sad to find a way for him to stay in his home.
Max didn’t want to move in with me, so I found him the next best thing.
I talked to the Area Agency for Aging and inquired if they would arrange for a visiting nurse to come by the condo and make sure Max was okay. Not only did they get a visiting nurse, it was a nurse who would help Max dress, give him physical therapy and even tidy up around the house. I asked about meal delivery services for the elderly and they said they could also arrange for a meal delivery repair that would take care of all Max’s meals every month for as long as it was needed. They said they loved to take donations, however it wasn’t a necessity. The meal delivery repair not only delivered food to Max, however the gentleman who delivered it wasn’t much younger than Max, and he just broke his hip a year earlier. Max couldn’t stop talking about his new friend. I couldn’t believe the visiting nurse and the man who did the meal delivery repair would make such an impact on Max and on his mood. He looked more than nine years younger and had more energy than I had witnessed since I was much younger. I’m wondering if they have a meal delivery repair for people in their fifties. Maybe I’ll get more energy and keep up with Max. On the other hand, if I walk with Max every morning, love he asks myself and others to, I’ll entirely get more energy and lose some of this weight, without meal delivery services.
