My friend Stanley bought a beautiful piece of property in the country.
It has a creek running through it, and is sitting on a beautiful, forested hill-side.
He wanted to be far from civilization, but that has been a bit of a problem in some respects. Particularly, when he needed work done on his HVAC system. The few residents in the area get their cooling products from a/c dealers from the nearby town. This town is forty-five minutes from his house, so it is difficult to get a hold of a cooling specialist. Stanley called me the other week complaining that he was not enjoying summertime because his air conditioner wasn’t working very well at all! Due to my history of being an a/c expert, Stanley consults me when it comes to cooling technology dilemmas. He explained the few issues he could perceive about the unit. Stanley hadn’t yet called in for an a/c tune-up since his family moved into the house, which was well over a year. The one thing he had done in terms of a/c care was replace the dirty a/c filter. Stanley had yet to call an a/c rep to take care of everything else. Since I was planning to visit him that weekend, he requested that I bring my gear so that I could help him fix it. He was willing to wait two more days. When I eventually got there, we began working right after lunch. I was relieved that only routine maintenance was required to make everything as good as new. I took it upon myself to teach Stanley more about a/c so that he could take better care of the system.
