My wife is allergic to yellow jacket stings

I remember like it was yesterday when my best friend Richard was stung by yellow jackets on the playground when we were eight-years-old.

I had no idea that Richard was allergic to bees and yellow jackets, nor did I know that he had an epi-pen in his back pocket.

When his face began to swell, I froze in complete fear. By the grace of God, the teacher was nearby and saw it happen almost instantaneously and rushed in to administer the epinephrine shot to save Richard’s life. That was the day I learned how serious insects can be for people who have serious allergies to their bites or stings. Since I have been stung by everything from bumblebees to hornets without ever having a serious reaction, I was ignorant of how dangerous these situations can be for those who actually are allergic and to a severe degree. Richard ended up living that day, but there are some with allergies like his who don’t. You might have a certain mindset regarding bee removal services, but they’re essential for people with severe allergies to stings. They can’t have random hives and nests in the garages, homes, and sheds for instance. My wife is extremely allergic to yellow jacket stings and has an epi-pen just like my friend Richard from elementary school. Thankfully we don’t have any serious issues with yellow jackets in our area and I haven’t seen her get stung yet. She said that the last time she was stung was in college and she almost didn’t get to her epi-pen before blacking out from the effects. Thankfully her friend was close by and was able to provide assistance.
