I think it is becoming more commonplace for most of today’s cities and towns to have a portion of the town that is sort of The Artsy place.
In these little areas of the Cities, you can find things such as art galleries and boho shops and places that make homemade jewelry and things like that. In our town we definitely have a section of town called railroad Square where it is very artsy. My sister happens to own a building down in that part of town, which she has had for ages. Way before that area became known for being the Artisan Community, she had this sort of business looking building. She always hoped that business development would increase in that area and she could offer either office space for rent or shop space for rent depending on the clientele. She had plenty of business space for rent, but lo and behold, it is not an industrial center like she suspected it would become. Rather, it is more of an artsy part of town. Since this is the case, my sister decided it would be a good idea to update some areas of her building and offer Artisan Lofts for rent. Indeed, she now has one artist in Loft that faces East, 1 Artisan Loft for rent that faces West, one artisan loft for rent that faces north , and a big commercial office space for rent all in the one building. Her plan is now to Market to the art see folks in the area her Artisan Loft for rent as well as her business office rental. She is hopeful that it will be just the right kind of space for The Artsy people of the area. They will be able to use the Artisan Loft for their own work and projects, plus they will have access to the office space for rent for those of them that will have employees you need to conduct regular business.
