The main reason I wanted a dog is for companionship

My family and I lived in an apartment when I was a kid. My parents said we couldn’t have a dog, but I asked for 1 every single year at Christmas, Easter, and my birthday. I really wanted a puppy but my parents told me that having a puppy in an apartment would be impossible. I eventually moved out into a place of my own. I found a job and a small trailer a few miles away from the interstate. When I spoke with the landlord about the trailer, the first thing I asked was about the pet policy and the AC. I wanted to know if I could have a dog and I wanted central AC. As long as I paid a small fee and $25 extra every month for rent, I could have a dog or a cat. I definitely didn’t want to get a cat, because I don’t think they are very fun animals. They aren’t very friendly and I really wanted a dog for a companion. I went to the shelter and they had a lot of dogs available for adoption. It was hard to just choose one dog on that hot and humid summer day. I found a small husky dog that was cute and friendly and he seemed to like me a lot too. I visited with him a couple of times before we went back to my house. I have really enjoyed having a companion, but I’ve noticed some peculiar changes since having a dog. The indoor air is constantly filled with dust and dog hair. It’s impossible to remove it all. I had to buy a special air filter that is made for a place with dogs. The air filter is twice as much money as the one the landlord provides for free.
