My wife and I have lived across the street from him for the past 20 years.
I watched the guys’ kids grow up and get married and then come back with grandchildren. It’s really been something amazing to see the family grow and change. When his wife died last year, my wife and I lended all the assistance that we could. We wanted to do anything we could to help Howard at the hard time. One of the greatest concerns at the time was the central A/C in the house. The Wake was supposed to be held at Howard’s site, even though he knew that the new home was going to be too sizzling and humid for almost everyone to be comfortable. I told Howard not to worry about a thing and I grabbed a crew from the Heating and Air Conditioning store and I went back to Howard’s locale to work on the air conditioner system. I was truthfully glad to help out my neighbor. My wife and I were distraught when Howard moved away last year. His family decided to put him in an assisted living facility. Howard was having a going to see doctor 3 times a week, however it really wasn’t enough to help. Eventually his son and daughter decided to intervene. They provided to take him to live with a single of them, even though he did not want to leave the locale where his wife was buried. He moved to an assisted living facility across the street from the cemetery. My wife and I still have opportunities every once in a while to visit with Howard and that is a benefit of having the guy close.
