Some of years ago, our best buddy and I started a small repair company together.
The more than one of us were both working for a nationally-known Heating, Ventilation plus A/C repair dealer.
There was no room for advancement and both of us were fed up with the management. I had the capital to start the project and Jack agreed to leave the business to go into company with me. Every one of us never really discussed much about the company when it came to finding. Once I got our initial investment, all of us split things down the middle and shared all of the profits, but jack and I eventually had a falling-out and he decided to move out of town. Every one of us did not speak to each other for more than two years. I did not think anything about the guy or if he decided to start a repair company of his own. I did not think anything about Jack until I was served with a subpoena to go to court. The guy is suing me for a million bucks. He claims that I stole that company from him and made him walk away from a lifetime of profits. I completely and totally disagree, and I don’t like the fact that I’m going to have to get a lawyer and fight the guy in court. There is absolutely no proof that all of us intended to remain in company together for the rest of our lives and Jack does not have anything in writing that states I would ever supply him profits beyond the currency that the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company was making from week to week. I don’t think how the guy even has a case.
