I was sitting in my cold water dip this morning thinking about what would make me happy and satisfied now that I have money to pay all my bills for ten years.
I think having a passion and someone to love, a life partner if you will, and a healthy body and mind.
Those are the things that should keep us content. I was doing stand up comedy until about two or three years ago when I stopped basically but now I feel like I am missing out so I am starting a weekly show this Friday. Find your passion. Maybe you like doing drain line repairs and cleaning septic tanks, if that is what you love then go for it. I think having a challenge is good for the mind and soul and adds a sense of purpose to our step. I’m sure some people like having a plumbing service and a steady paycheck and if that gives you a feeling of satisfaction then you have found your path. I know that when I was painting houses it was cool up to a point and then I began to feel unhappy and felt I needed to do something different, so I did. I got my plumbing license and did leak repairs for a few years until I felt like I needed another change, and that’s when I got into stand up comedy. I was 38 years old and felt like I was starting too late but as the years went by I realized that it doesn’t matter when you start, just that you start.
