People talk about how you can save money on your daily bills by using a portable air conditioner in the summer instead of your central air conditioning.
Well that may work for some, but where I live in the south it does not! There is no other way to keep cool in the super hot summer weeks other than the central air conditioner cranked, and I have tried the portable air conditioning proposal to try to save money and it does little to no good.
The heat is so awful that you need the central air conditioner to turn it off. In the winter when it gets chilly I can say that a portable section furnace works with this method, but in the summer with the portable air conditioner, forget it! You have no choice however to spend money on the high electric bills and crank the central air conditioner. I easily wish that the portable air conditioner proposal worked because I get tired of paying the high electric bills every single year, then here in the south the heat easily last longer than just the summer and occasionally starts earlier, and for instance, I can tell you that in early December I am having to crank the central air conditioner for a month here and a month there. Then it would be back to the central heating and portable section furnace the following week. That is how crazy it gets over here with the weather. But regardless, I always keep my central heating and air conditioner worked on because of it all. It helps to keep the air conditioning finally working well.
