People talk about how you can save money on your energy bills by using a portable a/c plan in the summer time instead of your central a/c.
Well that may work for some, but where I live in the south it does not! There is no other way to keep cool in the super warm summer time weeks other than the central a/c plan cranked, but I have tried the portable a/c plan to try to save money and it does little to no good. The heat is so terrible that you need the central a/c plan to fight it off. In the winter time when it gets frigid I can say that a portable area oil furnace works with this method. But in the summer time with the portable cooling system, forget it! You have no choice but to pay the high electric bills and crank the central cooling system. I genuinely wish that the portable a/c plan worked because I genuinely get tired of paying the high electric bills every single year! Here in the south the heat absolutely lasts longer than just the summer time and occasionally starts earlier. For instance, I can tell you that in early December I am having to crank the central a/c plan for a week here and a week there. Then it would be back to the central heating and portable area oil furnace the following week. That is how silly it gets over here with the weather. But regardless, I always keep our central heating and a/c plan inspected because of it all. It helps to keep the a/c working well.
