My sister called me the other day to ask me if she should service her heating plan or substitute the whole thing.
I suppose she thinks that since I work in the heating and cooling industry that I should be able to tell her exactly what to do, the problem is, I don’t actually know how old her heating and cooling plan actually is! She moved into a house with an old heating and cooling plan already installed in it.
They did not have much trouble with the HVAC when they first moved in, but recently they’ve been having a lot of issues with the heating system, and since it’s winter and the weather is actually cooling off outside, it’s not the greatest time for her to be having troubles with her oil furnace.I told her that she could go one of more than one ways with this. She could either substitute the whole entire system, which is going to cost her quite a bit of money, or she can have it repaired. Since I don’t live close to my sister, I can’t go out and service it for her free of charge or at a discount, but unluckily, she lives so far away that this kind of help for her just is not feasible. I wish that I could help her out more, even though I can’t actually tell her all that much over the cellphone. In my opinion, I think she should just go ahead and substitute the whole Heating and A/C system! At least that way she will know what she has and how old it is. At least I can give her some recommendations on a new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system.
