The old oil heater wasn't worth much

There is a large Victorian house on the corner by my parents place.

It was owned by an older couple and the woman died last month.

She was the last person living and my brother and I wondered what was going to happen to the house. When I saw the for sale sign in the front yard, I decided to get nosy. The daughter was planning to sell the house, but not before she had the palace gutted. She was going to find a cleaning company to get rid of all the trash. I had an even better idea. My brother and I offered to clean out an old house for free, as long as we could keep anything of value inside. The lady jumped on the deal fast, because she didn’t want to deal with the contents of the house. My brother and I hired four additional guys to help us with the job and we spent three days getting rid of all the trash and furniture from the house. One particular item caught my attention. It was an old oil heater that looked to be from the 1940s. I thought the old oil heater might have some value, so I set it to the side. When we were finished getting rid of all the trash, I took the oil heater to an antique dealer that is a friend of mine. I was surprised to hear that the heater was still in working condition. I certainly didn’t expect that news. Unfortunately, the old oil heater wasn’t worth much money. Even though it was old, it was a rather common item to find in an older home.
