It is time for a heater tune-up

I am pretty sure that our heater needs a tune-up.

Last year it was running just fine.

In fact, it kept us nice and toasty warm all winter long. Of course we haven’t used it since April though. In April, May, and sometimes June we don’t need any HVAC at all. We just open the windows when it is hot and close the windows if it’s cold. This old house has really good isolation and it holds on to temperatures really well. June until September we usually run the air conditioner almost nonstop. It gets really hot in the summer around here. And, again, we had no issues with our air conditioning this year. In September and October we can usually get away with no HVAC once again. Fresh air is good enough. Come November, it is time to start using the heater again. It gets truly freezing in this area. I turned the heater on in early November, as usual, and I noticed that it was making a strange whining sound after it turned off. So it would kick on, work fine, then kick off and make this strange sound. It repeated almost every time. I didn’t bother with it any and now I have noticed that the heater almost never kicks off anymore. It is almost constantly running. So I’m looking to get a heater turn-up done. I am sure that the technicians will be able to fix it for us and set everything right again. At least, I hope they can. It is still a few more months until April so we really do need a working heater.
