The HOA apparently had an issue with the HVAC

I view myself as a fairly easy guy to get along with.

My approach to life is to live and let live for the most part.

I don’t sit there in judgement over how people decide to live their lives. As long as you aren’t harming anyone, do what makes you glad. That said, I tend to be what would be considered a normal guy. I go to work, provide for my family and appreciate various outside interests. And I appreciate kicking back in the HVAC sometimes to have a beer. These are sort of special moments for me as I don’t indulge in this ritual especially often. So, it was with a good amount of frustration that I had to answer the door one evening while I was enjoying one of these kick back in the HVAC moments. To make matters incredibly worse, I opened the door to a man who was extremely irritated. This was the compliance officer with our HOA. I understand the basic need for an HOA. Property values are crucial and making sure they are protected is equally important. However, I suppose that’s as far as it goes. If someone isn’t doing something horrific with their own property, the HOA should stay out of it for the most part. Well not our HOA. They take every chance they can get to flex their muscles. So now I had this angry man on my front step because my child had apparently cut a few inches too much off the hedge. The HVAC cabinet was just barely visible and the HOA guy was dying over it. It was challenging not to just slam the door in this man’s face. I told him the hedge would grow back in no time and I’ll trim it in the future.
