I’ll have to start thinking about replacing it before too much longer
Growing up and in my early adulthood, I couldn’t even see past the tip of my nose when it came to crucial things in life. It was all about immediate results and living in the moment the way I preferred to. Now there is genuinely nothing wrong with living in the moment. I feel as though the more present I am, the better off I am dealing with life overall. But back then, I don’t think I could see the value of the long term. Spending currency on the HVAC equipment every year to be certain that the HVAC had an extended operating life would have been completely dumb to me. Thankfully, by the time I became a homeowner, I was able to understand that there were such things as long term investments and commitments. When I signed that 30 year mortgage, it got me wise to thinking more long term. That spilled over to my property as well. Part of the deal with buying that first home was that I had to replace the HVAC equipment. When I bought some HVAC equipment that was a higher tier model and super efficient, I spent a pretty huge amount of currency. Luckily, I was smart enough to follow that up with consistent semi annual HVAC preventive repairs. In time, I bought another place to live. But, I kept that first starter property as rental income. And that too ended up being a good investment. It’s been over 25 years since I had that first HVAC equipment installed. And it’s still running especially strong. I’ll have to start thinking about replacing it before too much longer. But the very thought that I may get 30 years of flawless services from an HVAC is honestly amazing to me.
