I view myself as a completely simple person to get along with.
My approach to life is to live plus let live.
I don’t try to judge people on how they live their lives. As long as you aren’t hurting other people, do what makes you excited. That said, I tend to be what would be considered an unquestionably normal guy. I go to my place of work, provide for my family plus enjoy some outside interests. And I care about relaxing with the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C with a beer in my hand. These are sort of special times for me as I don’t indulge in this ritual all the time. So, it was with a tad bit of frustration that I had to answer the door a single night while I was enjoying a single one of these kick back in the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C moments. To make things entirely worse, I opened the door to a man who was super miserable. This was the compliance officer with our HOA. I understand the basic need for an HOA. Property values are pretty important plus making sure they are protected is also extremely pressing. However, I guess that’s as far as it goes. If someone isn’t doing something outrageous with their own property, the HOA should stay out of it. Well not our HOA. They take every single chance available to flex their muscles. So now I had this shockingly angry man on my front stoop because my kid had chopped a few inches too much off the hedge. The Heating, Ventilation plus A/C cabinet was hardly even noticeable plus the HOA guy was really aggravated about it. It was honestly difficult not to just slam the door in his face. I told him the hedge would grow back in a week plus I’ll trim it from that point moving forward.
