For those who can’t afford modern heating units, they end servicing their outdated a/cs beyond their life spans, changing the threat of a failed heat pump or poor duct sealing work.
There have been numerous furnace related incidents while I was in winter and that was worrying me! People seem not to be informed enough about the dangers of mishandling heating equipment in their homes while I was in winter. Whenever winter approaches, I take time to inform people about the need to be extra vigilant when staying warm. I have a podcast that has over 10,000 subscribers covering 3 states. I took it as a personal responsibility to share my knowledge and experience on heating after repeatedly reading about and hearing people lose property or lives because of heat related accidents while we were in winter. My child used to sleep with a space furnace in her room and this scared me. When I shared our story with a close colleague, I realized several families face such heating needs in their homes when the coldest winters arrive. Instead of fireplaces, many homes rely on a furnace powered by a dual fuel program or radiant floors. For those who can’t afford modern heating units, they end servicing their outdated a/cs beyond their life spans, changing the threat of a failed heat pump or poor duct sealing work. What all the people need are zoned heating and air conditioning systems and educating people on more about a/c safety and use, however the threat however, is not just a winter issue because cooling corporations also have their share of threats from cooling techs. I hope that with increasing subscriber base on our podcast, my following will learn and spread the word to others who need to hear about safety. I am blissful the local county has stepped in to supply me more airtime plus use our platform to put weight on the seriousness of this matter.
